Why 1.5 liters* of water a day? Just one small calculation and you have the answer!
On average, water represents about 60% of an adult’s body weight and is important for all around vital body functions. Everyday our body loses 2.5 liters* of water though urine, breathing, sweat and feces! For our body to function properly, we must compensate for this water loss with a 2.5 liter* intake of water in order to maintain the water balance**.
People should drink about 1.5 liters* of water each day to maintain proper water balance**. The remaining 1 liter is provided by the body or absorbed from foods and other beverages. Good hydration goes hand in hand with a healthy lifestyle!
